I\'m a technologist at heart with over a decade of experience helping organizations reframe cybersecurity as a business enabler, rather than a compliance burden. I’ve held technical and people leadership roles in both startup and Fortune 50 settings, partnering with senior leadership across product, engineering, and legal to solve complex security challenges at scale. Above all, I enjoy teaching and mentoring and I\'m particularly passionate about developing the next generation of cybersecurity talent.A few key tenets of a successful cybersecurity program based on my personal experience:1. Foster a culture of security - Build a blameless culture where Security is viewed as a partner, not an auditor. Encourage curiosity, collaboration, and builder/breaker mentality.2. Be involved early and often - Provide clearly articulated requirements and hands-on technical guidance from product ideation through launch & operations.3. Reduce friction and roadblocks - Strive to continuously reduce friction and unnecessary workloads which burden engineering teams and reduce feature velocity. Always try to identify solutions or compensating controls that support business objectives without sacrificing security commitments.
