About Joshua Small

Hello, my name is Josh. I am committed to not only improving myself but also enhancing the capabilities of those around me. I have a strong passion for teamwork, collaboration, and executing my responsibilities to the highest standard. I strive for excellence in every endeavor. My interest lies particularly in incident response and forensics, drawing on my background in law enforcement. Additionally, I have received my ISC2 CC certification and CompTIA Security+. I am working on obtaining the JNCIA from Juniper at this time as well. Currently, I serve as a Network Engineer at Comporium Telecommunications, where I specialize in configuring METs circuits, configuration and troubleshooting of Juniper equipment such as MXs, QFXs, ACXs and SRX firewalls. I also configure and troubleshoot Ciena switches as part of the METs circuits. Prior to my current role, I dedicated 14 years to serving my community as a certified police officer. My experience includes highway interdiction, K9 operations, SWAT, Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) certification, firearms instruction, Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) instruction, and field training. My passion has always been centered around IT and Cyber Security. After a fulfilling career in law enforcement, I am now eager to channel this passion into my IT career. I am committed to dedicating the necessary time and effort to excel in this field and am enthusiastic about connecting with professionals within the industry. In my leisure time, I enjoy playing video games with my wife and friends, engaging in outdoor activities, and traveling whenever possible.
