About Cy Dickey

I have a passion for integrating cloud technologies, automation, and doing more with less. Most recently I\'ve been improving my understanding of AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Linux, GitHub Actions, and Argo CD.My two previous positions had me working with security and collaboration tooling in both on-premise and cloud environments. Primarily Windows, but I also had opportunities to dabble in Linux. So I have varying experience levels with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Exchange, Slack, Quip, ADFS, Splunk, Box, Jira, Confluence, Proofpoint, GitHub, CircleCi, Hashicorp, and O365. I definitely preferred learning about and working with the security tooling, but the more robust collaboration cloud technologies gave solid opportunities to work with API\'s and improve my skills as a developer.Previously I was a systems engineer for the IDAM InfoSec team and before that the Client Application and Platform Engineering at Intel. I built, enhanced, and maintained the infrastructure for their ergonomic, backup, collaboration, and file management solutions. During that time, I learned a lot about vendor relations and the development & implementation life cycle of software. I worked with many teams internal and external to the company on a global scale to coordinate high availability infrastructure.I am extremely interested in technology and business, especially how the two can mesh together to improve business practices. This is why I chose to major in management information systems. This allowed me to develop a diverse skill set and knowledge base that makes me an asset in a variety of business areas. Which is a fact that I still think stands true, a decade after graduation. I love problem solving and coming up with ways to improve or enhance business functions. I am also passionate about the environment and sustainability.
