   Carter is a registered patent agent and experienced patent prosecutor. Carter has experience in all aspects of U.S. and international patent prosecution, including patent application preparation, responses to office actions, examiner interviews, and portfolio strategy. He has also managed the filing and prosecution of patents in more than 30 other jurisdictions around the World. Carter has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in fields as diverse as fifth-generation (5G) networks and standards, payment processing technologies, electronic devices, computer science applications, self-driving vehicles, electric vehicles and charging technologies, additive manufacturing, powder metallurgy, batteries and fuel cells, medical devices, packaging engineering solutions, food processing, and personal care products. Carter has advised clients on patent valuations and strategy during acquisitions and mergers, evaluated patent portfolios, performed patentability, infringement and invalidity analyses, and advised clients on their freedom to operate in a particular market with regard to existing intellectual property.
