ABOUT WANJIRU K.
I build practical systems that connect for-profit locally-led climate solutions with capital in Kenya. Previously a sustainable fashion start-up founder with lived experience in advocacy and exclusion. I engineer tools and partnerships to regenerate overlooked communities\' economies, climate, and biodiversity; allowing small and growing African businesses to thrive in real-world conditions. Leading a local NGO - the Pit to Palace Initiative, running 3 priority programs: SustainSME - retrofitting sustainbaility in missing middle SMEs Climate Futurepreneurs - taking rural youth in Kenya from climate impact idea to MVP status Rural Circular Revolution - holistic waste management in 3 counties. Think public, private, people partnership. Big on PWD inclusion. Everything we do is designed to scale, informed by data, and institutionalised. Our programs are self-funded as we operate without donor funding. This has given us independence and responsiveness to the ground realities. Still, we are open to collaborating with like-minded partners and funders.
