About Curtis H. Tearte
Mr. Tearte is a business transformation and technology executive with an extensive track record in delivering results by gaining share in existing and new markets; integrating acquisitions into the core business; driving cost efficiencies; and, executing sales and marketing strategies for growth. With significant cross-industry global experience, his expertise in understanding international business cultures and development of high-potential diverse executive talent was demonstrated by leading IBM business units in excess of $15 billion and worldwide teams of more than 1200 associates. One of 60 executives who served on the IBM Worldwide Management Committee, understanding business analytics coupled with technology utilization guided his decision-making acumen to adapt and deploy innovative strategies and agile organizational constructs.Resolving complex situations is his signature attribute. Astute listening, continuous learning and respectful collaboration to align the interest of all stakeholders defines his cornerstone approach for achieving a history of success.Tearte holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brandeis University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Connecticut. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Brandeis Board of Trustees, Director University of Connecticut Foundation Board and a Board member for the Charlotte Merchants Foundation. ln 2013, he established the Tearte Family Foundation which has reached more than 1550 students while providing scholarships of more than to 281 students. He is a founding major donor to the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.
