Curtis is a CPA professional and leader, with over 15 years of experience providing expertise in Financial Accounting and Analysis, Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) 404 Compliance, SEC and Regulatory Reporting, Internal Controls, Process and IT Auditing, and Enterprise Risk Management. Curtis utilizes his experience in Big-4 public accounting, auditing, and corporate finance and accounting, to drive growth and value for those leveraging his expertise, while enhancing internal controls over financial reporting, and identifying operational improvements to increase productivity and efficiency. Curtis currently serves multiple roles at First Horizon Bank. He leads both the SOX Compliance and SOX Internal Audit departments, where he is responsible for all aspects of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting, from risk identification and assessment through internal control development and testing. His results are relied upon by the CEO and CFO for SOX 302 certifications of ICFR. In addition, he holds various supervisory responsibilities within the General Ledger Reconciliation, Technical Accounting, Credit Risk and Reporting, Vendor Risk Management, and Financial Reporting groups. He also sits on several high-profile Management Committees with the objective of steering the Bank towards profitability and growth for its shareholders, while simultaneously upholding a responsibility for legal and regulatory compliance. Prior to joining First Horizon/Iberiabank, Curtis spent 7 years in public accounting, where he provided assurance and advisory services to a wide range of clients from large publicly traded corporations to small, private operations, in such industries as banking, insurance, asset management, maritime, manufacturing, oil & gas, technology, entertainment, and consumer products. Curtis spent most of his career working with large, SEC registered audit clients, and has extensive experience consulting on a multitude of topics including SEC reporting, SOX 404, business combinations, accounting policy implementations, initial public offerings, debt and equity offerings, system conversions, and various other complex accounting and auditing concepts. Curtis also serves as a board member for multiple non-profit organizations, focusing on providing financial literacy and improving quality of life for residents of the city of New Orleans. Curtis holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Tulane University, with majors in Finance and Accounting and minors in Mathematics and Economics, and a Master of Science in Accounting degree from the University of New Orleans.
