ABOUT CURT HULL
I am a professional engineer with broad experience and contacts in the non-profit sector and government, complemented by extensive experience in private industry.I help and connect groups working on climate change, sustainability, and resiliency solutions.I\'m working such groups as Sustainable Building Manitoba, Engineers Geoscientists, Functional Transit, Bike Week Winnipeg, Transition Winnipeg, City of Winnipeg, and Province of Manitoba.I also provide contract consultancy and project management services. In 2015-16, I worked with AKI Energy and Northlands First Nation to develop a Community Sustainability plan for Lac Brochet. The plan is to reduce dependence on diesel energy while building self-sufficiency and local employment. I\'m now working with Boke Consulting on sustainability projects in Sioux Valley Dakota Nation as well as Barren Lands, Northlands, and Sayisi Dene First Nations. Prior to changing career paths in 2007, I worked for 25 years as Director of Quality Systems with a Winnipeg-based electronics design and manufacturing company. While there, I helped that company grow from 12 people in a small, local facility to an international concern with manufacturing plants in three countries, offices in 5 countries, and over employees.I continue to use the essential Project Management Institute (PMI) elements to manage projects for various organizations to smoothly and efficiently meet the needs of clients, customers, and members. In 2010, I was trained by former US Vice-President Al Gore to become a Climate Reality Canada (CRC) presenter. Since 2012, I have been part of the Climate Reality mentor\'s network. In 2018, I was appointed to the Climate Reality Project Canada Board of Directors.Starting in 2018, I have helped Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba work on climate change initiatives.I have been lead author of the Road to Resilience series of booklets that define the pathway to a fossil fuel free, climate resilient future for Manitoba.(https://climateactionmb.ca/road2resilience/)
