About Tyler Christopher Sharp
I have the honor of serving as an English language arts and history/social science educator in San Diego. My praxis utilizes universal design for learning, arts integration, and a justice/equity lens to provide engaging, real-world, high-quality instruction to all students. My current professional aims are to continue enhancing my teaching craft and to earn an educational leadership degree. In my current work, I serve as teacher, intervention leader, and union representative at a world-class public magnet school for the arts. Prior to this placement, I earned a Master\'s degree in political science from the top-ranked University of California, San Diego, where I also gained research skills as well as college teaching experience in undergraduate politics courses. Prior to UCSD, I served as a corps member with Teach for America in Houston, TX, teaching high school advanced and IB English classes, where I built the sophomore and junior IB-track English curricula. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with majors in Global Studies and Political Science and a minor in Education. My education and career choices are functions of my passion for people, communities, and the meaningful change they can create. I hope to lend my talents, sharpened through an array of educational accomplishments and service-oriented work, to building innovative learning communities and crafting rigorous educational experiences for young adult learners.
