When it comes to leadership and leading a team or department, I start with getting my hands dirty to understand the day to day operation and what the teams expectations are. I find that unless you do the role, or show that you can do the role, you will not get the following that you need in order to make the impact necessary to succeed. This goes the same for management, understanding their coaching styles, time management and approach with the teams goes a long way.Data is my close friend and confidant, unless we are tracking and efficiently actioning on data, then we will not be effective towards driving the business. Understanding and being able to show others their performance and efficiencies, while also teaching them to monitor their own statistics is what will have the greatest impact.
