I am a Partner in the Labor and Employment group in Seyfarth Shaw\'s New York office, where I represent management, including many Fortune 500 companies, in employment litigation in state and federal courts, agencies, and self-regulatory organizations, primarily in the tri-state area. I have extensive litigation and trial experience defending both single and multi-plaintiff discrimination, harassment, and retaliation cases, employee tort claims, and class and/or collective actions. My first and second chair trial experience includes- A complete defense jury verdict on a race discrimination case brought by a former Vice President of the Company following a 7 week trial- Dismissal of four out of six claims on directed verdict motion, and securing unanimous defense jury verdict on remaining claims of discrimination and retaliation- Defense verdict following a bench trial on claims of defamation and breach of contract claims; and- A complete walk away on the eve of trial in a two-plaintiff discrimination suit.In addition to trial practice, I regularly advise employers on various workplace issues including hiring practices, background and credit checks, job classifications, internal complaints and investigations, wage & hour laws, employee handbooks, and workplace policies.In addition, I have specialized knowledge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and compliance with federal and state pre-employment background screening laws, as well as consideration of applicants with criminal history under New York Article 23-A.**Attorney Advertising.
