Bio-Edge, Inc. is a California corporation focused on providing innovative solutions for polymer and material applications. The company was founded in 1993 and has diversified into medical devices, polymeric membranes, amphiphilic polymers and polymeric controlled release of small molecules. Currently, Bio-Edge offers its clients expertise in the discovery and development of novel materials from concept through custom production and welcomes problem-solving tasks in the form of contract research, custom development and production, consulting and technical support. The R&D and production staff at Bio-Edge consists of four full-time scientists (three PhD and one MSc), BSc technicians, and a regulatory affairs manager/office administrator. The staff brings a wide breadth of experience in polymer, inorganic, organic and medicinal chemistries as well as backgrounds in biochemistry, biology and pertinent polymer dependent industries. This allows Bio-Edge to approach problem solving from varied scientific perspectives, and its small size and flexibility permits it to maintain focus or easily navigate with its clients\' changing needs. Bio-Edge operates an R&D laboratory space in Torrey Pines Research Park in La Jolla, CA, adjacent to UCSD, Salk and Scripps Research Institutions. The laboratory is capable of polymer synthesis, purification, analysis and the development and testing of prototype devices. Bio-Edge has additional local facilities for process development and production.
