Executive Director and Associate Dean for Innovation Director of Interventional Gastroenterology
Nov 2024 — Present · Los Angeles, CA, US
As Executive Director and Associate Dean for Innovation at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, I lead transformative initiatives to advance interventional gastroenterology and integrate cutting-edge technologies that enhance patient care. In my roles as Director of Interventional Gastroenterology and Director of System Integration in Advanced Endoscopy, I focus on developing and implementing high-value service lines and novel platforms, including robotics and regenerative therapies, to advance minimally invasive treatments for complex gastrointestinal diseases.I am the co-inventor of Endogenex’s ReCET™ technology, a groundbreaking regenerative therapy for Type II diabetes that utilizes non-thermal pulsed electric fields to reset metabolic signaling by targeting the duodenum’s cellular pathology. With multiple issued patents and numerous innovation awards, I have also pioneered advancements in endoscopic bariatric and metabolic therapies, including the Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG), Primary Obesity Surgery Endolumenal 2.0 (POSE 2.0), and Intragastric Balloons (IGB). Collaborating with colleagues worldwide, I have led development efforts and pivotal trials that have redefined endoscopic approaches to metabolic disease management.Driven by a commitment to addressing unmet clinical needs, I work with multidisciplinary teams and industry partners to bring innovative solutions from concept development through feasibility studies to large-scale randomized trials and clinical implementation. Passionate about mentoring future innovators, researchers, and clinicians, I remain dedicated to translating research into meaningful advancements in patient care and fostering collaboration to shape the future of healthcare.
