Creative problem-solver first, programmer second.Since I was little I have always loved solving hard problems. My grandfather used to give me a mind-boggling riddle everytime I went to his house. I then spent the next following weeks constantly thinking and searching for solutions. Some riddles were easy, but some took me months to solve, but I never gave up. Although they were not mathematical, logical, or scientific in their nature, I think I owe my problem-solving passion and ability to him. I studied mathematics and physics as tools to help me with solving evermore complex challenges. Up until about a year ago, I believed that I wanted to approach tackling issues from a mechanical engineering perspective. However, when I took my first computer science course I instantly knew that that was what I wanted to do with my life. C was the first language I was introduced to; I was awestruck by the technical aspects of writing code. But what made me so obsessed was how I could potentially create a program that solves most problems I can think of, however complex they are. After that first contact I became absorbed with the endless possibilities that coding offered me, and I took more coding courses both online and in UCLA Extension. I also began exploring projects on my own. The first project I ever built was a Sudoku Solver that I built using Lua and the LÖVE engine. I used parallel-computing and dynamic programming for efficiency, object oriented programming, and recursive functions in order to achieve a program that can create its own sudoku puzzles and solve any puzzle given in milliseconds. The next project I created I was very proud of because it solved a real necessity I found: big organizations receive countless applications, and answering to each of them is very time consuming. I built an automated email sending program using Python. You input a contact list with motives for writing, and email templates and it sends a personally tailored email to the contact list.I am a Computer Science undergraduate who wants to build great things. I am fascinated and driven by machine learning, artificial intelligence, and automation; one day I will get a postgraduate degree on these subjects. I aspire to solve problems in order to make the world an easier place to live in. Deeply passionate about using technology to help those who are most in need.
