ABOUT VENKATAKRISHNAN
C.S. Venkatakrishnan (“Venkat”) was appointed Barclays Group Chief Executive in November 2021. Venkat joined Barclays in 2016 as Chief Risk Officer before becoming Head of Global Markets, Co-President of Barclays Bank PLC in 2020. Venkat has extensive experience in risk management, and global markets, particularly within which Barclays operates. He previously worked at JP Morgan Chase from 1994, holding senior roles in Asset Management, Investment Banking, and in Risk. Venkat serves on the Board of Directors of several non-profit organisations including Bank Policy Institute, FCLT, and Institute of International Finance. In 2024, Venkat as appointed Chair of the Financial Services Taskforce under Sustainable Markets Initiative, working to bring industries and sectors together to drive the collective effort needed to address the transition to net zero. Venkat holds S.B, S.M. and Ph.D. degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
