About Crystal Ybarra-Witt
INTJ. Currently manifesting an existence that allows for me to balance self care around parenting, social and civic engagement/responsibility, community organizing/mentoring, as well as writing/performing the art of spoken word poetry on occasion, plus professional development, research, and practice of mindfulness (developing a business idea around a targeted and specific mindfulness workshop/curriculum I am evolving and designing). I avidly practice mindfulness in my daily engagements and do all of the above while navigating MS related chronic survivorship. My experience weighs heavy in the nonprofit, social service, and arts arenas. Those who represent or seek to (re)structure or (re)build the (infra)structure, curriculum or policy (re)design of projects, programs or organizations should explore my professional credits deeper. Especially, and in particular, agencies and organizations rooted in dismantling the structural barriers created by institutional racism and other oppressions faced by poor communities and communities of color. I subscribe to transformative justice approaches and holistically supportive visions/philosophies. Positions relating to social services, youth development, creative writing/spoken word poetry, disability justice and accessibility, LGBTIQ advocacy, anti-racist education/organizing/training, homelessness prevention/intervention, HIV/AIDS prevention/education, the prison industrial complex, environmental justice, or parental rights advocacy within the judicial system speak to both personal experiences and/or the direct impacts of the kaleidoscopic fractures of my family/experience. The passion and personal investments in my organizing life intersect, overlap and often fuse with both my social life as well as my personal life. I am a pathological learner and a pretty extraordinarily amazing addition to both community AND office spaces.basically, I\'m brought to life by serving the community and learning everything I possibly can!
