As the Maritime Security Team Lead in PM’s Office of Defense integration, I lead the Department of State Maritime Security Community of Interest (MSCOI); participate in Department of State and interagency maritime security policy coordination in fora such as the National Security Council Maritime Security Working Group (NSC MSWG) and the Maritime Domain Awareness Executive Steering Committee (MDA ESC); and formulate maritime security related global political-military perspectives and contributions for use by these fora. Additionally I support leads from the regional bureaus in maritime-related issues, inter alia,(1) U.S. maritime security related alliances and partnerships like the Quad Maritime Security Working Group and the Atlantic Cooperation Initiative Maritime Security Working Group;(2) maritime cybersecurity;(3) contested maritime domains like the South China Sea, Black Sea, Arctic Ocean, and Antarctic Ocean;(4) counter-piracy;(5) illegal, unreported, unregulated fishing (IUUF); and (6) the maritime industry.
