ABOUT CRYSTAL K. WATERS
I am an innovative, data-driven senior-level chemist with 3 years of industry experience in Lithium-ion battery chemistry. I serve as the Global Project Lead for dry cathode binders (ie. PTFE and other advanced fluoropolymers) to aid in solvent-free electrode manufacturing for electrive vehicle (EV) applications. In my current role, I employ my expertise in cathode material chemistry, materials processing and characterization, cathode - electrolyte interfacial properties, and electrochemistry.I have in-depth knowledge of extensive X-ray and microscopy characterization techniques including, X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray diffraction (XRD),and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Additionally, I develop novel characterization methods for go/no-go criteria in dry electrode processing.I excel at scientific communication. I was an invited expert speaker at the Dry Battery Electrode Expert Seminar in Switzerland. Also, I have a proven publication track record with peer-reviewed articles in Advanced Energy Materials, Energy & Environmental Science, Journal of Materials Chemistry A and more. I am always excited to network, connect, and collaborate with other energy storage enthusiasts and friends around the world!
