Supervise a team of staff attorneys advocating for communities fighting against housing and land injustice, against the criminalization of poverty, and for equitable access to public benefits across the Deep South. Engage federal agencies as well as state and federal elected officials in order to end collections efforts against over Hurricane Katrina survivors, secure housing vouchers for dozens of Black residents displaced by debarred housing management company, and end unlawful arrests of hundreds of people with delinquent trash bills. Lead litigation and legal advocacy, including federal class action regarding Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, administrative complaints regarding equal access to federal benefits under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and state court appeals of zoning decisions in land justice cases.
