ABOUT CRYSTAL MURPHY
I am Associate Professor of Political Science and Director of the MA in International Studies program, and co-Director of the Center for International Experiential Learning chapter at Chapman University. My research focuses on the political economy of conflict, humanitarianism and development, and advocates qualitative methods which center the voices of those affected for policy oriented scholarship. Over the past two decades I\'ve worked for, carried out field research and documentary film projects with NGOs, UN agencies and financial institutions in several African countries, especially the Sudans.At Chapman I teach classes including International Political Economy, Politics of Humanitarianism, International Relations, Intro to Environmental Policy, Challenges of Development, and advise MA theses.
