Reviews RESchecks and reports/calculations submitted for construction of habitable spaces to ensure compliance with energy codes. Identifies plan discrepancies with established codes or regulations and advises of corrective action of non-compliance with codes before building permits can be issued. Provides customer service and assistance to architects, engineers, permit technicians and the public regarding code compliance, inspection requirements, construction specifications and plan corrections. Maintains awareness of new and revised codes and construction methods and materials. Attend training programs to expand knowledge and skills necessary to perform thorough reviews. Member of WVCOA. Active participation as Executive Council Member of ICC Region VII since 2007 by attending quarterly meetings and assist in pertinent code revisions. Attend and vote on code changes at ICC Code Change Hearings if funding is provided by the County or West Virginia Code Officials Association.
