ABOUT JENS WILKE

Seasoned IT professional with diverse talents and flaws. Broad background in Software Engineering. I worked in small SMEs up to fortune 500 companies, from micro controller code for chip cards up to mainframes (IBM Z) and from system software to applications (event management, ticketing, eCommerce, wholesale). I still like to tinker with tech. My favorite tech stack for my own software projects is Linux (starting 1993), PostgreSQL (starting and Java (starting 1998). During my career, I have been exposed to a lot of good stuff but also some bad and ugly things. At some point, I was wondering, why isn\'t there some body just doing the good practices? Frustrated, because as a software engineer I could help solve the current technical challenge, but never was able to make a lasting impact in how things were running. So I searched and found who I can make a lasting impact and become a Scrum Master (2009) and did work as Process Coach and Scrum Master. Things I do- Running a tiny business in Germany. So, unfortunately, I do know my share about taxes, accounting, cooperate and IP law - Software Engineering, including but not not limited to Java back end, focusing and driving forward own projects as much as possible. Mostly cache2k at the moment - Helping startups as early stage business angel and mentor - Ultralight long distance hiking - Exploring new technical solutions or countries Things I like to do more- All kinds of water sports: Swimming, sailing, surfing - Drumming or play Ukulele - Daily dose of stretching, workout and mind exercises.
