ABOUT CROSBY CROMWELL

I am a social impact executive helping companies, foundations, and enterprises better understand the impact their inclusion decisions and strategic relationships have on the rate of innovation. I\'ve worked inside a Fortune One and its foundation, global NGOs, and began an inclusion employment company, with two other founders, as an impact entrepreneur. The thread of my career? I am hellbent on leaving the world a different place for people with disabilities by the time my life rolls the end credits. And, I know that this work is going to build better organizations for the leaders who get it and do it well. I\'ve won, lost, made big plays, and made big mistakes. I\'ve worked for great leaders and terrible ones. And, I\'ve learned important lessons along the way. Here are the 5 things that define me as a leader:1. I believe social impact management and the stakeholder primacy are the future of ethical business. Advancing profit, people, and the planet can work in harmony.2. I don’t believe in the concept of normal. As a person with a disability, I know the world is far more interesting and innovative on the outside of normal. My work, my passion, and my calling are the same thing. I believe it’s imperative to build leaders who lead with empathy. Empathetic leaders are the key to better workplaces, workforces, and better outcomes for more people. I believe rules need to be examined for efficiency, effectiveness, empathy, and bias. And then, often broken in order to innovate and advance ethical practices. Social entrepreneurship and philanthropy are charting new territory and building better ecosystems along the way. It’s an opportunity to build more equitable practices in companies, organizations, and foundations of all sizes.Life\'s too short to walk a linear line. Try. Succeed/Fail. Learn. Try Again.
