ABOUT CRISTINA PIMENTEL

Cristina Pimentel is a music and technology executive with experience advancing innovation, strategic partnerships, and ecosystem development across the global music industry.She was a founding member of Universal Music Group’s Digital Innovation team, working alongside senior executives in the U.S. and internationally to establish the group’s brand, operating model, and position UMG as a leading partner within the music-tech ecosystem. Her work focused on identifying and managing relationships across startups, investors, academia, ecosystem organizations, and government entities, including the creation of UMG’s proprietary startup database, the launch of its original Accelerator Network, and the development of UMG’s first incubation program, UMG Connect.Cristina has led global innovation programming, including hackathons, executive convenings, and conference initiatives such as Music Tectonics’ Startup Bootcamp and Music Biz’s Startup Bootcamp and Women in Music Roundtables. Her experience also spans business development, music licensing, and early-stage commercial models across media, entertainment, and health.She remains actively engaged in education and thought leadership through university programs and industry speaking engagements, and continues to build cross-functional networks connecting startups, investors, and operators shaping the future of music and entertainment.
