As an Assistant Public Information Officer, I support MRG\'s Senior PIOs across a variety of public involvement tasks. Since joining MRG, I\'ve gained public engagement experience supporting meetings and high-profile events throughout Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe counties, including FDOT District Six public meetings, DTPW BRT Metro Express Grand Opening Ceremony, Snowden Pedestrian Bridge Groundbreaking and Vision Zero Community Outreach Initiatives, Broward MPO Complete Streets Training and Community Engagement, and the City of Marathon Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Comprehensive Safety Action Plan. These events have taught me how to prepare for and host a successful public meeting throughout all phases of construction. This includes organizing meeting materials, venue vetting, photography, greeting residents at sign-in tables and submitting high quality post-meeting materials to clients. Other tasks I have undertaken include updating multiple EO/AO databases, editing Community Awareness Plans, sponsor calls, door-to-door distributions, organizing large-scale mailings, and logging pressers. I\'ve attended a variety of county commission, city council and government agency meetings on behalf of clients. One of my main focuses is community outreach. Tabling for safety initiatives such as Vision Zero and Safe Streets for All has integrated me into the community across South Florida and ignited my passion for face-to-face interactions with the public. I will soon transition working in-house for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 6 Construction Office as a Community Outreach Specialist.
