ABOUT CRISTINA MISCEO
I hold a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in psychology from Queen\'s University. I have always been an advocate for mental health. As such, I have gained experience in psychological research, private mental health clinics, and distress phone support. I hope to further strengthen my involvement in the psychology sector through clinical psychology graduate programs, with a future career of working in research and academia. I am particularly interested in psychological research that examines the etiology and maintenance of psychopathology (e.g, depression and self-injurious thoughts and behaviours). I hope to continue expanding on the literature that explores risk factors for these outcomes, specifically the role of distal (e.g, childhood maltreatment) and proximal (e.g, major stressful life events) life stress.
