ABOUT CRISTINA LOPEZ
As the Regional Director of Special Programs for the Upper Rio Grande Valley, I oversee a dynamic and multifaceted role in both special education instruction and compliance. I lead a talented team of 28 staff members, directly managing our Lead School Psychologist and Lead Speech Language Pathologist. I work closely with campus leaders across 16 schools in the Upper Rio Grande Valley, providing guidance and coaching on Special Education and RISE (Lifeskills) instruction to ensure leaders effectively support their teaching teams. Additionally, I develop and facilitate professional development sessions for both leaders and educators, focusing on enhancing instructional practices, IEP services, accommodations, inclusion, and more.
