About Cristina Curtis
I am an adaptive and experienced chemical/automation engineer with over 13 years of expertise in advanced process control, process automation, and technical project leadership across pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing. I have a passion for improving the lives of those I work with, whether it’s fixing a problematic controller that operators monitor, eliminating process bottlenecks for engineers through automation, or fostering better communication across plant areas. I take pride in improving both the quality and efficiency of the products we deliver while enhancing the experience of the people I support. My work is grounded in a dedication to process safety above all else. I consistently seek to lessen manual operator tasks and automate line-of-fire jobs, driving toward the goal of zero injuries. This safety-first approach underpin every aspect of my project execution.Currently, I serve as Technical Lead / Technical Project Manager at Skellig, where I lead multimillion-dollar automation projects for Moderna, including large-scale Native DeltaV conversions and MES integrations. In this role, I manage cross-functional teams of up to 14 members, oversee portfolios exceeding $15 million, and standardize execution processes by embedding best practices into PQPs and SOPs. I also champion code quality, risk and cost transparency, and collaborative team culture, ensuring clean commissioning and long-term operational success.Previously at Dow Chemical Company and Eastman Chemical Company, I gained deep expertise in batch and continuous plant operations, advanced control strategies, SIS implementations, and process optimization. I delivered significant cost savings, capacity increases, and safety improvements through creative process control solutions across polymers, glycols/hydrogen, and coatings manufacturing. My career reflects a consistent theme: combining engineering fundamentals with practical experience to reduce costs, increase capability, and drive projects to completion, all while keeping people and safety at the center of the work.Received BS Degree in Chemical Engineering, and a minor in Applied Mathematics from the University of South Carolina Columbia Campus.website: https://cristinacurtis.weebly.com
