About Cristina Barron
Cristina Barron, an accomplished executive with nonprofit leadership and government experience has joined the Fiscally Sponsored Projects Team as a Senior Advisor.Before joining Tides, Cristina was the chief program officer at San Francisco Pretrial Diversion Project where she was responsible for managing all release programs, overseeing policy and evaluation, strategic partnerships and community resources working with local government departments and national partners at the intersection of public health, housing and homelessness, and criminal and restorative justice. During her tenure she restructured executive and leadership staffing in order to adapt to an organization as they doubled in size. She also launched several new initiatives including leading the Covid response to being onsite and offering services 24 hours a day 7 days a week, implementing key justice diversion programs with the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office and Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing. Previously, she served as the Bay Area Big Brothers Big Sisters vice president of programs, where she oversaw the programmatic strategic direction and supported the operation and management of its non profit merger with the North Bay. She also acted as the organization’s regional spokesperson and primary liaison to community partners and local community based organizations. Cristina has also held leadership positions at First Place for Youth supporting local foster youth initiatives through the 2013 implementation of the 2012 passage of AB12. An overall experienced advocate, administrator, policy analyst and community leader with a demonstrated history of working in social and government services focused on the relationship between philanthropy, NGO\'s, and government systems along with the impact of private, corporate and international public service experiences. Acute expertise in people management, program development, communication, strategic plans, culture change, budget, operations, infrastructure, talent, recruitment and training, data, reporting and evaluation.
