ABOUT CRISTEN SACCO DION
As the Director of Graduate Practicum Education at Community Services Institute (CSI), I oversee the internship program that bridges the gap between classroom education and actual practice for social work students. I have been working at CSI for over 13 years, providing psychotherapy to children and families who are at risk and have a history of trauma, mental health diagnoses, or social services involvement. I am also a Clinical Supervisor and a Compliance Training Manager, responsible for ensuring the quality and effectiveness of the clinical services and the professional development of the staff.I hold a Master of Social Work degree from Springfield College and I am an Independently Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) in Massachusetts. I am also certified in the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths Assessment (CANS), a tool that helps identify the needs and strengths of children and families in various domains. My mission is to empower and support the individuals and communities I serve, using evidence-based and trauma-informed practices. My field of expertise is child welfare, and I have extensive knowledge and experience in working with diverse populations, addressing complex challenges, and facilitating positive outcomes.
