After 10 months at Checkatrade, I was promoted to lead the Match and Book team, where we manage the core marketplace experience and search. I’ve built a high-performing \"hit squad\" of 12 engineers—hiring a mix of contractors and permanent staff—to create a team capable of contributing across our entire ecosystem of 200+ services and apps using.NET, TypeScript, Kotlin, and Swift. Most recently, we delivered a full end-to-end marketplace \"Book and Pay\" experience, a critical milestone for our future business model. I act as the bridge between technical delivery and business strategy, partnering with my PM, UX designer, and C-suite stakeholders to drive innovation like AI-powered search. Whether I’m unblocking the team, coaching for growth, or getting hands-on with a proof-of-concept, I focus on building a resilient, inclusive environment that delivers high-impact results.As Technical Programme Manager I was instrumental in Checkatrade’s transformation to an API first Typescript tech stack by leading the programmes and initiatives to build the next generation of Checkatrade’s internal developer platform and its Customer Identity Access Management Platform. Thanks to my experience line managing developers and engineers I was given direct accountability and line management of contractor developer teams delivering core infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and PERN stack applications.
