Over 25 years of organizational and project leadership experience with commercial energy clients, the Department of Energy, and the Department of Defense, including 18 years supporting oil and gas, grid modernization, and distributed energy transformation projects. Currently a Managing Director with Deloitte Consulting, leading a distributed energy and grid modernization practice that is helping transform utility operations and business models to enable our transition to a sustainable energy future.Former co-founder of EnerGrid Group LLC, focusing on the integration of distributed energy resources into the power grid to deliver sustainable and low cost energy.Former Director of Distributed Energy and Microgrid Solutions at Leidos, managing the feasibility, design, integration and implementation efforts for smart grid and distributed energy solutions. Supported a broad client base, including investor-owned, municipal and cooperative utilities; Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs); the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA); the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI); energy project developers; and multiple national laboratories.I have led the feasibility, planning, design, systems engineering, and integration of smart grid, microgrid, smart city, data analytics, SCADA and cyber security solutions. Specific technology experience includes demand response, distribution automation, volt-var management, microgrid controls, combined heat and power, PV, geothermal and energy storage. My career includes eight years as an Air Force Officer, where I led a multi-disciplined Pentagon team developing strategic plans for Air Force aircraft, communications, and space systems.My interests include strategy development, organizational leadership, project development, integrated system design and delivery, and leveraging synergies across energy, infrastructure, environment, food and other domains that impact and enable Smart Cities and Smart Communities.
