SKILLS
ABOUT CRAIG PARRY
Pharma / CRO Experience:14+ years experience in the Statistical Programming world, primarily in the CRO industry. From leading studies and teams to building and redefining whole departments. I\'ve not only delivered high quality outputs but I have built the frameworks, teams and systems behind them. As the Head of Statistical Programming, I\'ve led the development of departments from the ground up: designing scalable processes, recruiting and mentoring high-performing teams, and embedding quality and efficiency at every level. I\'ve driven strategic initiatives across the full programming spectrum, across CDISC SDTM, CDISC ADaM, CDISC Define.xml and TFLs. Introduced tools and automation that have transformed and modernised the way we deliver clinical trials. InnovationInnovation is a core part of my work. I’ve built proprietary tools, defined reusable macro libraries, and developed processes that support regulatory submission deliverables, including the automated generation of Define.xml, outside of SAS. I’m particularly passionate about making programming workflows more robust, transparent, and audit-ready, without relying on black-box solutions. Educating non-programmers on what programmer do is paramount to ensure the whole picture is understood by everyone.🧠 I’m a subjective subject matter expert in the CDISC standards, regulatory submission readiness, advanced TFL programming (especially Figures) and internal system validation (including SAS platform lifecycle management). I believe without engaging and modern training platforms nobody can succeed. That said, I’ve delivered both billable and internal innovation projects, including SOP design, training programme creation, and cross-functional process integration. I’ve also shared my insights through presentations at multiple international conferences. Tech Stack: SAS Base, Macro, STAT, GTL, Graph; Visual Basic.NET; SQL; Excel VBA; R (Markdown); GitHub Actions; metadata-driven programming. Education: First Class Degree in Mathematics BSc (Hons) from Swansea University. Volunteering: I regularly volunteer once a week in my local hospital, it\'s a reminder that my contributions towards clinical research could have a real-world impact.🤝 I believe in collaboration over competition, and regularly support junior programmers, students, and professionals entering our industry. Always happy to connect.
