   My role can best be described as a combination of SRE and DevOps-y type work. My focus is on our Middleware platforms, but, the scope encompasses just about everything in the technology space. My primary responsibility is for the installation, automation, design, security, operation, maintenance, capacity planning, support, and overall infrastructure for our MuleSoft platform which hosts hundreds of APIs. GitLab is the center of my tooling universe. In GitLab, I: Automate everything possible (within reason) using Ansible; all code is committed to GitLab. Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines for hundreds of projects (largely via templates to make it as scalable as possible). This includes stages for build, storing artifacts, deployments, testing automation, and security (secret detection, dependency scanning, SAST, etc.). Document, document, document! I document all of our product, project, good practices, standards, snippets, etc. in GitLab. Create and maintain enforcement for compliance/standards (e.g. merge request approvals, protecting environments, code reviews, etc.). Other tools that I frequently use: All of the MuleSoft Anypoint tools, Ansible, git tools, API tooling/SoapUI, Splunk, Dynatrace, emoji, Artifactory, F5 load balancing and WAF, Docker, python, LDAP tooling, database tooling, security vaults, diagramming tools, command line/terminals, Microsoft 365, and various other network and security technologies to automate and eliminate toil – including many common Linux, Windows, cloud, CI/CD, and API-related tasks. I also help provide secondary support our Informatica and WebSphere platforms running on Linux and Windows. I work with multiple teams in design, architecture, and solution-making for company-wide initiatives. I help troubleshoot and provide assistance during major incidents.
