Ever since DSI has pioneered the science of testability, it has continued to be a technology leader specializing in leveraging MBDE as a key role player in design & support interoperability methodologies.Today, MBDE is enabling new areas for high-value ROI to be realized. When combined with MBSE, MBDE now allows for digital interoperability with/from/to other interdisciplinary design & support activities. MBDE enables the capturing of the system\'s architecture at any level of the design & ingest, otherwise independent digital data artifacts, to produce enhanced design assessment data with optional, fully transferable diagnostic detail for design assessment purposes and/or to be directly exported for operational support processes. Going a step further, MBDE allows for the establishing of a truly \"agile\" digital framework or thread that is capable of generating an assortment of typical & program-customized design assessments (FMECA, FTA, False Alarms, Sneak Path, Testability, etc.) as simple outputs from a “push of a button” from the same MBDE model(s) that can be validated & transferred directly to Test development and/or to the operational diagnostic support environment(s). As a result, new team members may be immediately invited to be partners in the digital thread activities. Consider the Software Test Team (for embedded applications, DFT, TPS, ATE, or those that require Test validation for Maintenance Demos, etc.) and/or Technicians in the production lab or field. Understanding of the value potential of integrating diagnostics into Systems Engineering processes that are using the digital power of MBSE, needs to be more seriously considered by those unfamiliar with MBDE.
