ABOUT CRAIG DELUZ

Born in the Bay Area, Craig grew up in a working-class household, where his father, John DeLuz, was a warehouse supervisor, and his mother, El Vera, took care of his five brothers and sisters. Craig went on to study business finance at California State University at Chico. While attending Chico State, he became CEO of student-owned businesses and was elected the first Black Associated Student Government president in the university’s 100-year history.Craig is a widely recognized as an experienced policy analyst and voice for conservative values. For years, Craig walked the halls of California’s state capitol where he worked as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Assemblyman Kevin Jeffries (R- Riverside). This followed his tenure as Legislative Aide and Communications Director for Assemblyman Tim Leslie (R-Carmicael). During his time in the capitol Craig fought against wasteful spending, bigger government and higher taxes.Following his tenure in the legislature, Craig went onto become one of California’s leading Second Amendment Advocates. As the Director of Communications and Senior Legislative Director for the Firearms Policy Coalition, he was a leading voice in the fight for citizens’ right to keep and bear arms. Craig has also cemented a reputation as an industry leader in Public Relations and Digital Communications. As Founder of Uncommon Sense Media Group, he has served as Editor for Red County-Sacramento and the publisher of the VOICE of North Sacramento. He is also a featured commentator with the American Urban Radio Network and MAD Moments on 1380 AM KTKZ. US Media has now expanded it\'s focus to include broad-based communications, and digital marketing. Currently, through US Media Group, Craig serves as the Director of Communications for The California Republican Assembly, Digital Content Manager for the Sacramento Observer and Digital Content Editor for California Black Media. Craig’s resume as a community servant and political activist is equally as extensive. As the Interim Executive Director with the Women\'s Civic Improvement Club of Sacramento, the oldest African American organization in the state, Craig helped erase a debt.Since 2005, Craig has served as a member of the Robla School District Board of Trustees, one of Sacramento’s highest performing school districts. He has had the honor of serving as Board President 10 of his 17 years on the board. Craig and Sobna, his wife of almost 30 years live in Sacramento, California near their two married, adult children Jazmine Smith & Craig DeLuz Jr.
