As Head of IT for a national parent and baby charity with 240 staff, 650 practitioners, volunteers and 16 trustees, the role provides strategic and operational leadership across all digital and technology services. Responsibilities include IT operations, cyber security, cloud strategy, supplier management, training, governance, licensing, AI adoption and continuous improvement, reporting directly to the CEO, Directors and Trustees. Key achievements include leading the cyber security roadmap and securing Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation, reducing staff IT costs by 28% and non‑staff costs by 55%, and delivering a full cloud transformation that reduced technology spend from 12.2% to 5.8% of total revenue. The role transitioned the organisation from two office buildings to a cloud‑first, home‑based model while maintaining high security and service continuity. Major programmes delivered include organisation‑wide rollout of laptops and mobile devices, implementation of Microsoft Intune and Autopilot, migration to a UK fulfilment centre, transition from Mitel telephony to a cloud‑based 3CX omni‑channel system, and cyber security improvements across Darktrace, Attivo and Microsoft Defender. Further work included migrating Dynamics GP to Azure, retiring the CARE NG CRM, moving shared drives to SharePoint, shifting from hybrid Azure to full cloud, adopting cloud‑based disaster recovery with Kaseya, and decommissioning over 50 servers and associated hardware. Additional projects include Salesforce‑based course and membership systems, payment system upgrades, BI reporting with Solver, Upshot and Jet Reports, Eventbrite rollout to 350 branches, implementing the iPlicit finance system, password management with Passportal and Bitwarden, Drupal/WordPress hosting on Azure then Pantheon, mobile/SIM estate management, continuous improve of Salesforce and introducing Mintsoft for warehouse management.
