ABOUT CRAIG TEALL
My name is Craig and I am Head of Marketing at De Gruyter Brill. My pronouns are he/him/his and I am based in the UK. In my current role, I lead a team of marketing managers responsible for promoting and driving authorship of our extensive journals and books portfolios.In my last role at Frontiers, I managed a team of remote communication specialists and was responsible for the planning and implementation of the effective marketing/promotional strategy for Frontiers\' entire journal portfolio, as well as strategic corporate campaigns. Previously, I have worked at other major publishers including Elsevier and Taylor & Francis, primarily focusing on launching new journals and driving open access growth.In addition, I am a big Inclusion and Diversity advocate and feel very strongly about promoting equality in all its forms. I believe in engaging, educating and empowering people so they can be authentic, feel safe and valued. I previously worked as a D&I project lead, supporting the Head of D&I set up a new company wide council responsible for defining and delivering the company\'s D&I strategy. I led the LGBTQIA+ workstream, helping to create and deliver measurable action plans, alongside exec sponsors and senior leaders, to advance Elsevier’s global D&I strategy. In 2018 I helped form the local Oxford chapter of Elsevier Pride, of which I was the chair for two years. I am also a psychological safety facilitator and run interactive workshops to help build psychological safety, and create high-performing teams. I have a Bachelors and Masters Degree from the University of Leicester UK, as well as other professional qualification from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and London School of Economics (LSE).
