Hydrogeologist with over 30 years experience, currently responsible for providing global subject matter expert (SME) hydrogeology technical support, advice, guidance and assurance for Rio Tinto Studies/Projects, operations, remediation and cleanup sites, and Rio Tinto Closure Assets and Closure Study portfolio. Previously responsible for managing cleanup of Rio Tinto legacy sites in the Western US as part of Rio Tinto Closure, hydrogeology and water-related work streams across Rio Tinto, as well as providing SME support to effectively manage hydrogeologic and water-related risks in operations, projects, and Studies across Rio Tinto. My principal areas of expertise include closure planning/evaluation/implementation, hydrogeology, mine dewatering, block cave hydrogeology, tailings seepage assessment and mitigation, water resources evaluations, groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling, contaminated sites mitigation, environmental permitting, and water-related risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.In 2021, I successfully applied for the RioExcel programme as a way to progress my career within Rio Tinto as an expert in my field. As a Senior RioExpert, I lead and influence hydrogeologic and water-related aspects of closure, legacy sites, operations, and contaminated site cleanup projects across Rio Tinto.
