About Craig Schickel

I am a Deputized Lieutenant in a correctional setting with over 21 years of experience. I am currently the Shift Commander for all External Operations of the Jail and staffing all detainees located at outside Hospitals. I am responsible for all staffing, staff scheduling and external security for the entire compound and street units securing the perimeter. Responsible for compliance with all state and federal regulations within the facilities. In the last 9 years, I have rotated into every Division on our compound as Shift Commander. I am a State-certified Critical Incident Team member and fully C.I.T. trained. I am a State-certified Field Training Supervisor and I wrote and helped develop the Correctional Officer F.T.O. program for our Department. This is the only full Correctional Officer F.T.O. program of it\'s kind. I also taught classes at the Sheriff\'s Training Academy and at In-Service Training. I am a fully trained member of our department\'s Peer Support Program and available to assist in all staff support for individual/family counseling, Alcohol and Drug Program placement, suicide prevention and more. I have worked as MS Access developer and Auditor for our department. I developed databases to keep track of all Use of Force, all training and all current major audits in the department. I also helped develop a database to track benefit time within the entire department and implemented same. Specialties: Law-Enforcement and Correctional supervisory experience, extensive training and teaching skills, along with computer skills, make me a well rounded asset to the dept. I am also an experienced instructor for officers and supervisors alike.
