About Craig S. West

As a 30-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry, I’ve had the privilege of originating over $20 billion in multifamily loans throughout my career. I currently serve as Senior Managing Director at Walker & Dunlop, where I focus on the direct origination of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Life Insurance Company loans. My role centers on leading multifamily originations through our Agency lending platforms, and I’m honored to have been recognized by Fannie Mae as a top originator.Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop in 2012, I held senior roles at CW Capital LLC as Managing Director, and at Column Guaranteed (a Credit Suisse subsidiary) as Senior Vice President in their Agency Lending Group.Beyond my work in real estate finance, I’m actively involved in industry and community leadership. I serve on the Board of Directors of the National Multi Housing Council and am a Trustee on the Board of Homes Fit for Heroes. Giving back is a core value of mine—I mentor high school and college students, offering both financial support and career guidance. I’ve also partnered with the Thompson Island Outward Bound Education Center and have been a five-year member of Tiger 21. Additionally, I’m a proud member of Peachtree Presbyterian Church, where I participate in the IRONMEN fellowship program.Earlier in my career, I was a Certified Public Accountant and Senior Tax Consultant at Ernst & Young. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University and am a proud supporter of the FSU Legacy Hall initiative.
