I am a senior member of the Employer’s Contract Management Team, managing an FIDIC EPCI supply contract with international contractors during the execution phase of the €5.2 billion East Anglia THREE project, one of the world’s largest renewable energy developments. It comprises a 1,400 MW offshore wind farm 70 km off the Suffolk coast, offshore and onshore HVDC substations, and an inland HV cable route connection to the National Grid Substation in Bramford.I play a key role in managing rights and obligations under the main contract, and I provide contractual and commercial advice to the project management team and cross-functional stakeholders. My responsibilities include assessing, negotiating, and determining large contractor claims; commercial reporting; reviewing and approving payment milestones; preparing funding requests; drafting letters and contractual notices on behalf of the Employer and Engineer; drafting supplier contracts; coordinating with legal experts; and managing a team of external quantum and delay consultants.

ABOUT CRAIG RITCHIE

PhD-qualified Chartered Quantity Surveyor and commercial specialist with over twenty-five years’ experience delivering multi-billion-pound infrastructure projects for clients, consultants, and main contractors. My career spans transport programmes, renewable energy, HV power systems, and nuclear projects, supporting the energy transition through infrastructure decarbonisation.I hold academic qualifications in building and quantity surveying, and a doctorate in environmental anthropology.
