Provide compassionate, person-centred companionship and support to adults living with dementia and to younger individuals experiencing mental health challenges, promoting dignity, independence, and quality of life. • Build trusted, therapeutic relationships through consistent emotional support, active listening, and meaningful engagement tailored to each individual’s needs, abilities, and preferences. • Support service users with daily routines, social activities, and community engagement, helping to reduce isolation, anxiety, and confusion while encouraging confidence and wellbeing. • Demonstrate a strong understanding of dementia care principles, including patience, reassurance, and effective communication strategies to manage distress, memory loss, and behavioural changes. • Work sensitively with individuals experiencing mental health difficulties, providing calm, reliable support and adapting approaches in response to mood, triggers, and personal circumstances. • Maintain clear professional boundaries while showing empathy, respect, and discretion at all times. • Liaise effectively with families, carers, and colleagues to ensure continuity of care and accurate sharing of observations and concerns. • Adhere to safeguarding procedures, confidentiality requirements, and organisational policies, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable individuals.
