ABOUT CRAIG HIRSCH

Craig Hirsch represents companies, directors and officers in third-party liability insurance recovery matters and coverage disputes with insurance companies. He has achieved victories for corporate policyholders resulting in hundreds of millions of dollars of insurance recoveries over the past seventeen years.Craig has extensive experience advising on financial lines and third-party liability coverage programs, focusing on directors & officers (“D&O”), professional liability (“E&O”), private equity and asset management, cyber, employment practices liability, media liability, fiduciary liability, commercial general liability, commercial property and similar policy forms.Craig has been a trusted advisor to clients on insurance issues and coverage advocate for Fortune 500 companies, publicly-traded corporations, “unicorn” startups and privately-held firms in a wide array of industry sectors, including finance, investment management, energy, education, information technology, real estate, health care, telecommunications, manufacturing and consumer brands. Craig is a seasoned litigator who has successfully brought coverage actions against liability insurance companies in various jurisdictions for breach of the duty to defend and indemnify, and “bad faith” claims handling practices. Through his litigation teams, Craig has obtained multimillion-dollar judgments for underlying defense costs and settlement payments. Craig also writes and speaks extensively on financial lines insurance topics and how to avoid and defeat common law and policy-based coverage defenses. Craig received his B.A. in English from State University of New York at Stony Brook and his J.D from Brooklyn Law School in 2004. He is a father of three and proud resident of Eagle Rock, California, currently serving a two-year term as Sub-District Four Director for the Eagle Rock Neighborhood Council (ERNC).
