This role was originally called the Applied Theatre Practitioner. I was the first person to hold this post in Oldham Theatre Workshop. As part of the role I had to contribute to the overall strategic development of Oldham Theatre Workshop.I liaise with a wide range of community, corporate and voluntary sector agencies to investigate, promote and initiate the purposeful application of Theatre and drama as a change agent in Oldham.To recruit appoint and manage project workers to deliver applied Theatre activities.To raise funds from trusts, grant making bodies, partnership working and income generating initiatives to further develop the resource.To research and develop innovative theatre and drama solutions to contemporary issues, disseminate good practice and contribute to the development of applied Theatre.To promote understanding and raise awareness of applied Theatre is a valuable resource in the range of corporate and community settings.To develop the role of applied Theatre in supporting professional and personal development in formal education settings.To ensure that will service developments take account of the principles of social inclusion and continuous improvement.To deputise for Oldham Theatre workshop manager when necessary.To work in conjunction with and on behalf of members of the public, elected members educational and cultural services personnel and representatives from other OMBC departments.To work in partnership with professional and artistic agencies and personnel with a view to the creation and development of applied Theatre project work.To liaise with voluntary and community organisations in the development of arts based project work.
