Conduct routine safety inspections of aircraft, equipment, and facilities to identify and mitigate potential hazards, ensuring compliance with Army aviation safety regulations. Analyze aviation accident data and trends to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions, leading to improved safety practices and procedures. Collaborate with flight crews, maintenance personnel, and other aviation professionals to promote a culture of safety and risk awareness. Facilitate safety training and awareness programs for aviation personnel, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations. Investigate and report on aviation accidents and incidents, providing recommendations for prevention and mitigation strategies. Manage safety-related documentation and records, including accident reports, safety briefings, awards and hazard assessments. Assist in the development and updating of unit standard operating procedures (SOPs) to align with current safety regulations and best practices. Coordinate safety audits and evaluations with higher headquarters and external agencies to ensure compliance with Army and Department of Defense safety directives. Acts as a Final Mission Approval Authority for low risk missions
