Principal Contractor: MaceSub contractor: Prater-CTR Site Services LtdLocation: Alliance Manchester Business SchoolLifting & Logistics Manager Dates: From Feb - PresentCTR are currently on a rip out and Re-Ferb project as the Lifting & Logistic Team, we inspect and over see any lifts carried out throughout the job by following and sticking to the lift plan. I am also incharge of Carrying out Tool box talks to my colleagues,doing the Loler inspections, reading drawings and also completing the day work sheets.My duties and responsibilities of a lifting manager include: • co-ordinating and Managing all lifting activities in accordance with the Lifting Plan; • briefIng all lifting team members (i.e, crane operators, riggers and signalmen) on the Lifting Plan, risk control measure and safe lifting procedure before the commencement of any lifting operation; • ensuring that only registered crane operators, appointed riggers and appointed signalmen participate in any lifting operation involving the use of mobile and tower cranes; • ensuring that the ground conditions are safe for any lifting operation to be performed by mobile cranes; • be present during all lifting operations; and • if unsafe conditions are reported to him, to take suitable measures to rectify the conditions so that the lifting operation can be conducted safely.
