Colchester, GB

The Weave was born of a desire to change the playing field when it comes to innovation and growth. It is a metaphor for how we work, the interlacing of resources to create a new tapestry for our region. We are the pebble cast into the pond, the ripple effect that can make a sea of difference, the catalyst to raising aspiration and confidence. How entrepreneurs learn is our focus. The current style of learning on the job, testing and trying things out on our customers first and then picking the pieces up later, this has stifled creative thinking and developed risk aversion. Now there is a new way – a community of game changers seeking radical ways of growing self-confidence, self-belief and drive to make things happen. The Weave is making the change – we are building the practice ground for entrepreneurs, a safe space to try out new thinking, engage with leadership and grow you capacity to create uplift in others. We are an entrepreneurial eventing company – a place where we can learn and upgrade our decision making skills, learn about design thinking, systems thinking and opportunity seeking and exploitation. A creative force that brings together the resources of the region around events designed to challenge and empower the next and future generation of value creators. Today, we shine a spotlight on North Essex and Suffolk and the resources of the region, we partner with anyone who wants to see us all prosper, the University of Essex, the enterprise agencies and with the entrepreneurs themselves. Join us and become part of the movement for change

Democratising access to the Campus model: Learning is undervalued in business and essential for growth.8. Distributed leadership trumps individual leadership: The job of a leader is to create more leaders.9. The job of a Mentor is to show leadership - the role of the Mentee is to grasp it.10. Experiential Learning: Just do it – already trademarked but certainly a philosophy I ascribe to.11. Lifelong Learning: Left school with nothing now has a Masters – a self-taught educationalist who believes combining practice with theory is more productive.12. Women\'s Equality Advocate: A Women\'s Equality Party member supporting access to opportunities for all.13. Unlucky for some but not for me: The Weave – a place where serendipity thrives.14. Generational Perspective: Born in the 1960s, lived through the 1970s, and continuously reinvented in every decade since.
