As the cybersecurity architect for our region’s largest health system, I serve in a variety of capacities within a burgeoning cybersecurity program in an Ivy League academic medical center. I am tasked with growing and operationalizing enterprise cybersecurity capabilities, notably medical device security, EDR, MDR, SIEM, security automation, vulnerability management, network visibility and microsegmentation, and email fraud defense across Dartmouth-Hitchcock and affiliated system member hospitals. Through review of telemetry from security capabilities, I build supporting data-based narratives to inform enterprise information security policies. I am a final-tier escalation point for cybersecurity incident response, versed in working complex incidents in coordination with third-party forensic experts. I leverage that expertise through partnerships at state and federal levels, building bidirectional awareness of emerging threats, and establishing trust between our organization and our greater cybersecurity community. As a subject matter expert in the field of healthcare cybersecurity, I was solicited to record two Skye Learning cybersecurity education modules, Cybersecurity for Healthcare Professionals and Cybersecurity for Human Resources Professionals, and was selected in 2020 by the Medical Device Innovation Consortium (MDIC) to attend the FDA/MITRE medical device threat modeling bootcamp. I have built relationships within CISA and FDA, which led to my participation in numerous Health Sector Coordinating Council cybersecurity working groups, where my areas of focus are healthcare supply chain and legacy medical devices, producing information and research products which inform federal health sector policy.
