About Courtney Robertson
I build the programs, education, and community infrastructure that help open source projects thrive and developers succeed. For nearly two decades, I\'ve worked at the intersection of technology and teaching—from high school classrooms to international conference stages to the WordPress ecosystem that powers 43%+ of the web.Right now at GoDaddy, I champion Airo AI Builder—an agentic platform that turns natural-language prompts into production-ready web apps with hosting, domains, and databases built in. I also lead open source developer advocacy across the WordPress ecosystem, contributing 35 sponsored hours per week across 8+ WordPress make teams and creating developer education content for Learn.WordPress.org.But the work I\'m proudest of is the work that moves resources to people. I was instrumental in securing GoDaddy\'s pledge to The WP Community Collective to fund and empower open source contributors, alongside additional corporate investments in the PHP Foundation, PHPCS, and W3C. I co-founded The WP Community Collective and serve as Vice President of its board, advocating for sustainable funding that prevents maintainer burnout. My background isn\'t the typical DevRel path—and that\'s the point. I spent 15 years as a professional educator teaching computer science, web development, and business technology across high schools, community colleges, vocational programs, and a front-end developer bootcamp. I\'ve designed curricula, mentored career-changers, and watched students present their first open source contributions at WordCamps. That foundation means I build developer programs the way a teacher designs a course: starting with what the learner needs, not what the company wants to ship.I also contribute to software supply chain security—I\'m a credited contributor to the FAIR Package Manager (a Linux Foundation project for decentralized WordPress package distribution) and the CISA \"Software Transparency in SaaS Environments\" whitepaper advancing SaaSBOM standards.I\'m always interested in conversations about developer relations strategy, open source sustainability, community program design, and how education and technology can reinforce each other. Let\'s connect.
